‘Peggy’s Got The Blues’
Cadogan Hall, CULFORD ROOM, SW1X 9DQ , [Venue Details]Following on from the success of The Allure of Miss Lee (an evening of songs and stories of jazz icon Peggy Lee) jazz vocalist Catherine Lima and her quartet bring you Peggy’s Got the Blues.
Lee’s voice was very distinctive – it was understated but full of subtlety with a breathy tone that became her trademark, significantly enhanced by her liking for cigarettes! She made over 50 albums covering many different styles of music, giving them all her unique treatment – it seemed she could turn her voice to anything. However, she had an innate blues style and Peggy’s Got the Blues celebrates that style.
With Peggy Lee trademark hits such as ‘Fever’ and ‘Is That All There Is?’, this show also embraces some of Lee’s lesser-known repertoire.
